Category
From Wiki
A category is the main method used to organise information in a MAST report.
How a category appears in the report depends on which view is selected.
- In Grid View, categories appear as row titles
- In a Chart View column chart, categories appear along on the horizontal axis (sometimes known as the X or category axis)
Reports can use any available dimension as a category. The dimension currently selected as a category is displayed when the Category (Rows) tab at the bottom of the report is clicked. It is possible to select multiple dimensions as categories in the same report, in which case they will be nested in the order in which they were added.
Blank reports have a default category which can easily be changed if required.
To remove a category
- Click the Category (Rows) tab
- Right click the grey button bearing the name of the dimension
- Select Remove Dimension from the shortcut menu
Note that if the only category present in a report is removed, the report will have no data available until a category is added.
To add a category
- Click the Category (Rows) tab
- Click the Add dimension button
- Select the name of the required dimension from the list
- Click OK
To filter on a category
- Click the Category (Rows) tab
- Click the filter symbol at the right hand end of the grey button bearing the name of the dimension
- Click the Expand buttons (the + symbols) at the left hand side of the list to display the hierarchy as necessary
- Check or clear the check boxes to denote which elements to include in the report
- Click OK
