Road Urban or Rural
From Wiki
The Road Urban or Rural dimension is a value calculated by the Department for Transport based on location information about each crash reported in STATS19. The value is used in the production of many table of information published in Road Casualties Great Britain.
The following definitions of what constitute rural and urban roads are reproduced from the Definitions, symbols and conventions section of RRCGB 2008:
Rural Roads
Major roads and minor roads outside urban areas and having a population of less than 10 thousand.
Urban Roads
Major and minor roads within an urban area with a population of 10 thousand or more. The definition is based on the 1991 Office of the Deputy Prime Minister definition of urban settlements. The urban areas used for this bulletin are based on 2001 census data.
