Time of Day

Time of Day is a MAST dimension which defines an approach to summarising data by chronology. It is based on the time of day when each crash occurred according to STATS19 returns.
The Time of Day hierarchy is arranged into three levels, as follows:
- Six hour bands (for example, crashes occuring between 12 Midnight and 5:59 AM inclusive)
- Three hour bands (for example, crashes occuring between 12 Midnight and 2:59 AM inclusive)
- One hour bands (for example, crashes occuring between 12 Midnight and 0:59 AM inclusive)
- Three hour bands (for example, crashes occuring between 12 Midnight and 2:59 AM inclusive)
Time of Day does not represent calendar years or months, but these can readily be included in any analysis by using the Crash Date Dimension.
