Transition to Acorn

Agilysis has decided to update its systems to include CACI's Acorn segmentation as part of its ever-expanding role in supporting road safety stakeholders to continually understand who is being injured on their road networks, and how best to target road user segments over the long-term for improved road safety outcomes. Our previous provider of socio-demographic data was Experian, via Mosaic Public Sector and Mosaic 7.

This change of data supplier and amendment to our data infrastructure comes at a time of increasing recognition amongst those in the sector of the need to better understand who is impacted by road safety outcomes in order to complement associated transport policy areas of active travel, air quality management and climate change. Building and expanding these capacities to generate granular and informed insights into who is involved in collisions, and how they feature as casualties, has been identified as critical to reducing the burden of injury and developing approaches more broadly which facilitate more equitable, safe and greener road transport systems.

This approach to consumer segmentation and the underlying datasets mean that Acorn can provide solutions to socio-demographic analyses that are both flexible and highly relevant to the specific needs of road safety professionals and practitioners. Agilysis’ extensive experience in road safety research, evaluation and data management has meant that we as a company see the strong compatibility between our mission to build sophisticated solutions in this area and CACI’s approach. There is clear evidence in the strategic value of such solutions for the road safety sector, which is reflected in Acorn’s methodology.
